Ferrari GTO Legacy Tour 2024
Arrival in Maranello
40 years after the presentation of the Ferrari GTO, Ferrari is organizing the GTO Legacy Tour 2024, an exclusive event that celebrates the fortieth anniversary of a true legend. It is scheduled from 1 to 5 October 2024: a driving experience reserved for owners of the first Prancing Horse supercar in the fascinating setting of the Dolomites.
The one dedicated to the Ferrari GTO is the second edition of the Legacy Tour, after the first F40-themed experience which took place in 2023: an event which involved 39 crews in an itinerary that from Forte dei Marmi, through the Apuan Alps and the Tuscan countryside, has arrived in Maranello.
The Legacy Tour 2024 will instead start in Val Rendena. The event chose Trentino, Veneto, Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna as the backdrop for its routes. The most important Ferrari 288 GTO collectors will come from all over the world to discover the history, culture, food and wine excellences, architectural wonders and landscapes of the territories crossed.
The elegant scenery of the Dolomites will accompany the crews until the last day, which will see the arrival of the participants in Maranello, on Friday 4 October, at approximately 4.30pm. The GTOs will be welcomed into the Prancing Horse factory, where participants will discover some of the car’s secrets directly from the Ferrari Classiche experts, as well as from some members of the GTO development team. The cars will be displayed inside the factory and, afterwards, a parade on the Fiorano Circuit will close the 2024 GTO Legacy Tour.
The participation of approximately 60 international guests and 30 vintage Ferrari cars is expected.
Ferrari 288 GTO
Announced by Enzo Ferrari in September 1983 and unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1984, the GTO was also known by the unofficial acronym 288 (2.8 litres, 8 cylinders). It aroused immediate reactions of enthusiasm. The legendary name, the beautiful Pininfarina line, the engine with seemingly inexhaustible power, the extensive use of special materials made it the production car most similar to a racing car available on the market. To meet customer requests, 272 examples had to be built instead of the 200 planned: they were all sold before production began.
