The Autobianchi A112 Abarth is a sport utility vehicle produced from 1971 to 1985. Presented at the Turin Motor Show in October 1971, the “A112 Abarth” had an immediate response from the public. In addition to the eye-catching racing red livery, contrasted by the matt black of the bonnet and door sills, the most important difference with the normal A112 was represented by the significantly revised engine. It achieved immediate sales success, destined to last for almost three decades: a very rare case among sports cars derived from mass production. The use in competitions immediately followed the sale of the car and continued uninterruptedly for almost twenty years. The A112 Abarths were used in all covered-wheel sports categories, by an immense number of professional and amateur drivers, conquering an impressive overall palmarès. Currently they are widely used in uphill races or rallies reserved for historic cars.
