The archaeological site
4000 m2 in area, the grounds inside the walls of the Castle create an attractive green arena with the ancient towers as an impressive backdrop. From an observation point connected to the keep, visitors can see an archaeological area with the remains of the old church dedicated to St Bartholomew, the adjoining bell tower and a number of graves. This is the core of the old village of Formigine, which originated in the 10th century.
