High Altitude Potato Festival

18th Edition of the Piandelagotti High Altitude Potato Festival, an ancient festival, organized by tourist and agricultural operators in collaboration with the municipality of Frassinoro and the Pro Loco of Piandelagotti.

The typical Piandelagotti potato began to be cultivated and then marketed since 1925, thanks to the work and suggestion of Monsignor. Adolfo Lunardi, well-known botanist of international fame.

The festival includes a market featuring the high altitude potato, with typical local products and tasting menus at the restaurants. There is no shortage of entertainment and musical entertainment activities for adults and children.

In addition to attending the festival, it is worth spending a day in Piandelagotti, a hamlet in the municipality of Frassinoro, located on the border between Emilia Romagna and Tuscany at 1209 m above sea level. known for winter tourism with its beautiful cross-country ski slopes, but which also and above all in autumn allows beautiful excursions, on foot, MTB and e-bike, on the network of paths, among beech woods, exciting, in the magical colors of the spectacle of the foliage, the beautiful Maccherie plateau, at the foot of Monte Giovarello (1760 m), the Prati di San Geminiano on the Via Bibulca, until reaching the nearby town of San Pellegrino in Alpe, with its Sanctuary and a breathtaking view of the Apuan Alps.
